What Does A Ladder Stitch Look Like?
A ladder stitch looks like little steps on a ladder before you pull the thread tight.
The stitches run side to side between two folded fabric edges, making a zigzag pattern. Each stitch is small, even, and sits neatly across from the last one. This is the easiest stitch among all the stitches.
Once you pull the thread, the fabric edges come together, and the stitches disappear like magic! It may be reasonable with a slip stitch, but it’s not the same, trust me.
The seam looks smooth and natural, as if the fabric was never opened. It’s a super handy stitch for closing up stuffed toys, pillows, or any project where you don’t want the thread to show.
