Sewing Inspo was born from the heart and hands of Maisha Soumee and her grandmother, Grandma Manha. Their mission was simple: to create a crystal-clear visual library for every hand stitch and machine technique, removing the jargon that often stops makers in their tracks. A New Chapter: Meet Gail Butcher

As the new owner of Sewing Inspo, Gail brings over 20 years of business and marketing experience to the community. While her background is professional, her roots are deeply personal. Gail grew up in a household where slow fashion wasn’t a trend—it was a way of life. Her mother sewed much of the family’s wardrobe, and today, that tradition of handwork is kept alive by Gail’s sister, sister-in-law, and niece through quilting, crochet, and embroidery.

Gail believes that sewing is a restorative craft—a way for busy people to slow down, create with intention, and build a more sustainable wardrobe. Her goal is to expand the resources here, making it easier than ever for you to find the tutorials and tips you need to succeed.
